Getting to Victoria, BC
There are many different ways to get to the Goldstream Group Campsite at Goldstream Provincial Park and Victoria, BC. Please try to carpool as parking is limited at the the Start/Finish area.
You will need to arrive in Victoria the day before the race.
There is no ferry service that will get you to the race start on time.
Getting to the race start line:
Leaving from Victoria on Highway 1 heading north (Towards Nanaimo) you drive approximately 16km. Once you pass the intersection of Highway 1 and Westshore Parkway, you will see Ice Cream Mountain (the shop) on your right and immediately after that, you will see the entrance to the group campsite.
Getting to Victoria by car:
Since we live on an island you have a few options for ferries to Victoria.
There is direct BC ferry service from Tsawwassen (Delta/Vancouver) to Swartz Bay (Victoria) and another route from West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) to Nanaimo (Departure Bay) followed by a 1.5 hour drive south along Highway 1. Check the BC Ferries website for sailings and reservations.
For our American friends, Washington State Ferries offers a ferry from Anacortes to Sidney (Victoria). This is a great option as you bypass the sometimes back-upped Peace Arch or Pacific Highway Border crossings. We have taken this ferry before, and it is an awesome ferry to take!
If you are coming from South of Olympia, Washington, or want another fun option, the MV Coho Ferry from Port Angeles, Washington takes you directly into Downtown Victoria.
Getting to Victoria by air:
Victoria’s International Airport (YYJ) is located in Sidney, BC. Flights from Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto through Air Canada, Westjet, and Horizon Air (Alaska Airlines).
Victoria also has a seaplane port in the downtown harbour with service from Vancouver and Seattle.
If you do decide to fly, you will need to arrange transportation to the start area. Unfortunately, there is no public transportation to the start area.
