Finlayson Arm – 50 Mile
The 50 mile (82k) is a new course with 13,000 feet of elevation gain. The new route is a one loop course taking around some of Victoria’s best trails. Less elevation but be warned, this course is still beast!

Start time: 5:00am
Bib Pick-up
Friday, September 5, 2025: 5:00pm – 8:00pm
Saturday, September 6, 2025: 3:30am – 5:00am
Goldstream Group Campsite
Valid, government-issued, photo ID is required to pick up your bib number and wristband.
You’ll need your wristband for post-race food and drinks so please keep it on! You will need to keep your bib for the 28k.
Aid Stations & Cut off Times
Aid stations will have water, Gu Energy Gels and Gatorade Sports Drink (Lemon-Lime and Orange), coke, ginger ale, fruit and various other ultra fare. Aid stations have been known to stock brownies, gluten free cookies, mini vegan cinnamon buns and other terribly yummy baked goods. We do our best to ensure we have an assortment of food at our aid stations!
Our races are cupless. In our ongoing efforts to reduce waste, our aid stations are now cupless. Please bring a re-useable cup/bottle with you.
Aid #1 (Rowntree Road at Rowntree Trail) @ 11.1km. (3 hours or 8:00am)
Aid #2 (Ross-Durrance Road at Mt. Work Parking Lot) @ 23.2km. No Cut off.
Aid #3 (Munn Road – South end of the Mt. Work Summit Trail at Parking lot) @ 28.2km. Cut off at 12pm or Noon – 7 hours.
Aid #4 (Scafe Hill Trail at Bellamy Trail) @ 33km. No Cut off.
Aid #5 (Francis King – Munn Road at Panhandle Trail) @ 40km. Cut off at 2:30pm – 9.5 hours.
Aid #6 (Scafe Hill Trail at Bellamy Trail) @ 51km. No Cut off.
Aid #7 (Munn Road – South end of the Mt. Work Summit Trail at Parking lot) @ 58km. Cut off at 5:15pm – 12.25 hours.
Aid #8 (Ross-Durrance Road at Mt. Work Parking Lot) @ 63.6km. Cut off at 7pm – 14 hours. Runners are required to leave here with a headlamp after 5pm.
Aid #9 (Rowntree Road at Rowntree Trail) @ 75km. Cut off at 9:45pm – 16.75 hours. Runners are required to leave here with a headlamp after 5:45pm.
Finish line for 50 mile (82km): Cut off at 18 hours or 11pm.
Sunrise is set for 6:38am and Sunset is set for 7:43pm (More information here). Runners will need a headlamp/lighting source for the beginning of the race and those planning to finish after 7pm, a headlamp/lighting source for the later parts of the race. Please plan accordingly!
Cutoff times are to ensure the safety of our runners, volunteers and the general public who are using the trails and to ensure we stay within our permits. Cut offs will be strictly enforced for this reason.
Parking
There is No Parking is available within the Goldstream Group Campsite (start/finish) area. Please do not park in non-parking areas or make your own. There is no parking on the roadway into the group campsite. If you park there you will be towed without warning.
We are trying to make arrangements for overflow parking at Sysco Victoria Corporate office off Westshore Parkway and Parking has been arranged at Ice Cream Mountain. Please see our Race Policy for more info.
Please note: Many of the gated parking lots at the parks get locked after hours. This is especially important for 50 mile runners and their crews. Please ensure you park outside the gated areas to avoid getting locked in on Friday evening.
Crew Access & Parking
Runners may have a crew comprised of 2 individuals and 1 vehicle. Crews are required to park in designated parking spots. We will have a suggested parking areas to assist your crew in meeting you. Certain roadways in the Highlands are for Local Traffic Only. Please see our Race Policy page for more details.
NO CREW PERMITTED:
- Aid #1: Rowntree Road at Rowntree Trail.
- Aid #4 & #6: Scafe Hill at Bellamy Trail.
CREWS PERMITTED:
- Aid #2 & #8: Ross-Durrance Road at Mt. Work Parking Lot. Parking along Ross-Durrance Road or Willis Point Road. Watch for runners crossing the road!
- Aid #3 & #7: Munn Road – South end of the Mt. Work Summit Trail. Parking is available in the Munn Road trailhead parking lot and a few spots along the road.
- Aid #5: Francis King – Munn Road at Panhandle Trail. Parking at Francis King main parking lot. No parking on Munn Road.
- Aid #9: Rowntree Road at Rowntree Trail. Parking is available at the Caleb Pike trailhead in Gowlland Tod Park. There is no parking available along Highland Park Terrace or Skyview Place.
- Finish Line: Parking is at Sysco Victoria or nearby. Do not park along Hwy 1.
Drop Bags
50 mile athletes have the option to have drop bags delivered to Durrance and Francis King aid stations. Drop bags will be returned to the finishing area once the event is complete. If you cannot stick around after your event, you can pick them up Sunday during the 28k event. Drop bags that are left behind will not be mailed back to the participant.
50 mile athletes may do a “hiking pole drop” at the first aid station at Rowntree meaning that poles will be delivered to the first aid station for you.
PLEASE LABEL YOUR DROP BAG WITH YOUR NAME AND BIB#. DROP BAGS CANNOT BE LARGER THAN 20 inches X 15 inches x 10 inches (a normal draw cord bag). ANY ITEMS LARGER THAN THIS WILL NOT BE TAKEN TO THE AID STATIONS.

Finlayson Arm – 28k
The 28k climbs to a spectacular lookout and back with a total elevation of 4,400 feet.

Bib Pick-up

No crew are permitted at aid stations for the 28k race. No Crew Access allowed at any point during the event. Spectators are permitted at aid stations and places along the route.
No hiking poles or drop bags for the 28k.
