Bill’s Trail:
Local legend, Bill West-Sells moved to a rustic mountainside house near the base of Mt. H’Kusam in 1989. His water supply was located partway up Springer Peak, with no convenient access. Undeterred, Bill started building a trail to the supply source for maintenance purposes. Once that short trail was complete, Bill asked himself, “Why stop there?”
Bill continued carving a trail through the forest, leading up towards the majestic H’Kusam peak. After over two decades of hard work, Bill is far from finished. His dedication has not gone unnoticed, as the trail is officially recognized by the Forest Service for recreational use.
When you find yourself on Bill’s Trail, take a moment to appreciate the accidental masterpiece that emerged from one man’s vision, determination and hard-work.
Thank you Bill, for giving us the gift of a trail that tells a remarkable story of a labour of love, endurance, and the beauty of the great outdoors.
